Archer Daniels Midland

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is a global company with over 22,000 employees and 275 processing plants. ADM acquired the Columbus corn processing plant when they purchased Minnesota Corn Processors in September 2002.

Minnesota Corn Processors relied on the local community college for the development of its employees and ADM continues to do the same. In addition, local leaders have been helpful offering assistance when needed. There is a strong and reliable workforce in Columbus. Our employees are able to take on the challenges our business presents them. They also take a great deal of pride and ownership of the jobs that they do.

We are pleased to be located in Columbus and are confident the community will continue to provide us with talented and capable employees.
Steve Kieffer, Human Resource Manager

BD Medical Systems

Find Value and Values in Nebraska. Our company did just that with one, two, three, now four manufacturing plants employing over 2,200 people.

These highly automated facilities have grown to become some of the worlds' largest providers of medical products.

You'll find "value" in Nebraska's low energy costs, tax incentive packages, supportive university and colleges, pro-business minded communities and more.

The real treasure are the "values" of Nebraska people, their entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to purpose, emphasis on education (students consistently rank in the top percentile nationally), and their Midwest integrity.

These are the cornerstones -- Nebraska's "2V Formula -- the real values that fuel business teams and business success.

FLEXcon

FLEXcon was established in 1956 in Spencer, Massachusetts. Today, FLEXcon is a leading supplier to the pressure sensitive label industry. FLEXcon is privately owned, operating under a team-based business philosophy that values people as its greatest asset.

That philosophy was a key factor in Nebraska being chosen as the local for the first manufacturing expansion outside of Massachusetts. In 1999, a 200,000 square-foot facility was added to the existing facility — establishing 400,000 square-foot of manufacturing space in Columbus to better serve customers in the United States and Canada. In just five years, the Columbus facility evolved into a major producer of pressure sensitive adhesive coated products with superior production efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Nebraska provides people determined to meet the challenges of global competition. Nebraskans focus on continuous improvement with the attainment of customer satisfaction as their primary objective.

Lindsay Manufacturing Company

Lindsay Manufacturing Company established its business foundation in Nebraska in 1955 and today is a world leader providing irrigation products to over 86 countries. Lindsay was one of only 16 companies to make "The 200 Best Companies" list four years consecutively, based on Forbes strict financial criteria.

Lindsay's ability to compete in a global market and achieve financial recognition is influenced, to a large extend, by its production operation being located in the state of Nebraska.

The geographical area surrounding Lindsay provides a base of people who have a solid mechanical background and positive work ethic, and a responsive group at Central Community College to provide training assistance. These resources have supported continuous improvement in every phase of our business and allowed Lindsay to maximize production efficiencies, enhance product quality, and expand manufacturing potential in its 500,000 square foot Nebraska plant.

Vishay Dale Electronics

Vishay Dale Electronics has been in business in Columbus since 1951. We have plant locations throughout the United States and world.

We feel our chance of success is greatly improved with people we find in mid-Nebraska, such as Columbus. The education system is outstanding. The way of life and education system provide people the ability to become better educated, more productive and more dependable than most other places. These qualities of better education, intelligence and dependability are particularly important in the factory of today.

We find our people care about their customers and their company. Without a doubt our most important asset and the major reason for our success has been our employees. Central Midwest-grown people just get the job done!
