Billing and Service Deposits

Electric service deposits may be required for new customers. Deposit requirements will be waived for customers who provide a satisfactory letter of credit from their previous electric provider. The District reserves the right to require a deposit equal to the customerís two highest bills in a twelve month period. Customer deposits will accrue interest at a rate determined by the District.

Residential customers will have their deposit plus interest credited to their account when they have established a satisfactory payment record for twelve consecutive months. Commercial customers will have their deposit plus interest credited to their account when they have established a satisfactory payment record for 24 consecutive months. Any customer that is required to make a deposit due to late payments, disconnection of service or bankruptcy, will be required to establish a satisfactory payment record for 24 consecutive months to have their deposit plus interest credited to their account.
