Industrial Development
Promoting economic and industrial growth. Loup Power
District is committed to supplying not only excellent electric
power service to its customers, but also to helping its customers
realize the highest quality of life possible. Since the District's
inception, management has recognized that prudent growth benefits
both the District and its customers.
This understanding lead Loup to form the Development
Department, whereby the District allocates assets--both
financial and personnel--to promote economic and industrial
growth across the entire service area.
By all accounts, the District's economic and industrial
development endeavors have been a marked success. The perfect
blend of a hardworking and well-educated work force, low energy
costs and a local environment friendly to business has led
to strong economic and industrial development within Loup's
service area. Loup's growth has been described as being more
"typical of Sun Belt regions than the Corn Belt" by a national
publication.
As an illustration of Loup Power District's
economic and industrial development success, five Fortune
500 companies now call Columbus home for major manufacturing
facilities.
